Do you miss talks about the state of the world, philosophy, and the meaning
of life? Are too many conversations in your "adult" life shallow? When contemplating
our upcoming Fifteenth
Reunion, do you yearn to go beyond the usual questions: "What's your name?",
"Where do you work?", and "How many kids do you have?"
Join us for informal, but meaningful conversations on Saturday afternoon. Grab some barbecue at the Field Day, and then join us for meaty discussion about topics that really matter.
We will divide into small groups around topics of interest. Each will be led by a classmate who will serve only as a moderator. The rest is up to the group. No speeches, no advertising, no judgment -- just an opportunity to explore topics with interesting people. It's a great way to meet classmates you do not know, and get to know others a little better. Best of all its free!
Some topics already suggested include:
-
"What a waste": The joys and challenges of being a stay-at-home parent
- Raising bilingual children
- "Am I selling out?" Public service vs. personal requirements
- Living abroad: Is it possible after junior year?
- 15 Year Check-in: Am I living by my convictions?
- Making big changes in your career
Feel free to create your own topic and group, or join an existing one. We will split our time so everyone will be able to participate in at least two different discussions if they wish.
If you have questions or would like to suggest a topic for discussion, please
contact either Rob Carney (robert.carney@post.harvard.edu)
or Rushika Fernandopulle (Rushika@comcast.net).
