After three years at the Philadelphia Orchestra and one semester at the Wharton Executive MBA Program, Eddie Yim has accepted a new position as the Artistic Administrator at the Cleveland Orchestra. During this transition period, Lori Rutter will be filling in for him.
Lori just finished an M.P.P. at the Kennedy School in June and is working as a consultant at Technical Development Corporation (TDC) in Boston. "TDC is a nonprofit managment and research firm that provide services to the nonprofit, philanthropic, and public sectors. If you need an organizational assessment, program evaluation, or strategic planning give me a call."
Amy Zegart was married to Craig Mallery (Stanford'90) in October 1994 in Louisville KY. The Harvard contingent was sizable. Among the guests were Liz Seaton, Austin Lin, Merideth Lazo, Eddie Yim, and Jenny Greene. Amy and Craig live in Palo Alto, CA where she is finishing her Ph.D. in Political Science and Craig is practicing law.
Patricia Callaghan was awarded the Devlin Medical Scholarship in September 1994. Tricia has just completed her first year at UMass Medical School.
Grace Won spent the last year in San Diego clerking for a Federal District Judge. She writes, "This is a great little city. Next year, in keeping with my nomadic existence, I am moving to LA to clerk in the 9th circuit."
Ginny Smith writes, "I am finishing my Ph.D. dissertation at UC Berkley in molecular and cell biology. In January I will be getting married in Long Island to Michael Shapiro (USC '89) We met at the Ph.D. program at Berkley. My sister, Teresa Smith-Glaser '89-'90 will be my matron of honor. Also in attendance will be Joe Giani '89, Peg Pisani '88, and hopefully Scott Panzer '88 and Joanna Kartunnen '87. Mike and I have rented an apartment in SF -- our new address will be 1385 28th Street Apt 6, SF, CA 94122. After the wedding, Mike and I will be starting post-docs at UCSF and would love to hear from classmates."
Married: Pam Merlis to Scott Conover (Princeton '88) on September 3,1994. The couple lives in Baltimore and both are attorneys.
Married on May 27, 1994 Kate McAnaney to George Molinsky, Jr. in NYC. Bridesmaids included Margo McAnaney '94, Ashley McAnaney '96, Stacey Berg (practicing law in NYC), Catherine Wolfram (working on her Ph.D. in Economics at MIT), Karen Everling '90, and Cynthia Erseck '88. Guests included Sean Rockett (a medical resident in Boston), Brian Guthrie (a consultant in Boston), and Tara Gustilo (a medical resident in Durham, NC) , Jenni Weinreb (a student at the Kennedy School), Nelle Pace (practicing law in NYC also) , Katie Toner, George Zlupko (a medical resident in Wilmington DE) and Lani Nelson-Zlupko (taking some time off from Sociology to have fun with their new son Gian), Cynthia Bonni, Susan and Steven Boranian (both graduated from Northwestern Law and are living in AZ for a year with their baby daughter Lauren), Maggie Vaughn '90, Julia French '90, Lynn Frangione '90, Julie Clifford '90, Jennifer Walzer '90, David Kramer '90, Kate Felsen '88, and the women's varsity lacrosse coach Carole Kleinfelder. Kate and George both graduated from Notre Dame law school and now live and work in Cincinatti. Kate is with the firm Vorys, Sater, Seymour, and Pease and George works at Taft, Stettinius, and Hollister. They would love to hear from Harvard grads in the area.
Sabrina Hundley (MBA '94) married Robert Nicholson (Williams '90, MBA '95) on August 27, 1994. Sabrina is an associate at Mercer Management Consulting and lives in Cambridge with her husband.
Allison Armour (MPA, Princeton; currently an NYU Law Student) married Bradley Garb (B.A. University of Arizona, Ph.D. candidate in Philosophy at CUNY) on January 7, 1995.
Married: Lisa M. Pavelich to Steven M. Connelly ('91) on June 5th, 1994. Greeting guests at the church were Monica Chavez Silva and Ellen Wrchota. Monica gets the prize for longest distance traveled -- from Santiago Chile. Maid of honor Kristin Daly and best man Jay Jakimczyk ('91) both made humorous and memorable toasts to the bride and groom. Numerous Harvard friends attended including: Jacqeline Bell and her husband Larry Saul ('90), Patricia Callaghan, Nancy Johnsen, Tom Grant ('91) and Kim Carnesale ('92). Also in attendance were newlyweds Wade Kerrigan (91) and Jessica (McBee) Kerrigan ('92), Julie McDermott ('91) Sarah (Wilcox) Cousineau ('91) and a host of other '91 Matherites. Lisa and Steven honeymooned in Greece for two fun-filled but very short weeks. Lisa has started a family medicine residency at the Beverly Hospital. Married: Bridget Bailey and Eric Nisley on January 1, 1995 at the Heathman Hotel in Portland, OR. Guests included Alison Levy-Bird, Bill Bird (88), Inger Dewey who sang "As Time Goes By". Bridget and Eric honeymooned in Whistler, Canada. Eric recently graduated from Lewis and Clark Law School where Bridget is in her second year. Their address is: 1209 S.W. Eli Attie writes, "After four years as a speech writer for David Dinkins, I have spent the past year as chief speech writer and special assistant to House Majority Leader -- soon to be Minority Leader -- Richard Gephardt. I am enjoying DC, but as a die hard liberal, I am sadly part of an endangered species in this town."
Ken Fan writes: "This is the first time I have ever written to Class Notes but I think I've got a good one! Anne (Amie) Wilkinson is going to be a Benjamin Pierce Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Harvard this Fall. Wow, what an accomplishment!"
Anne Wilkinson writes: "Ken Fan has sent you mail about my plans for next year and so I am sending you mail with his plans. He just received his Ph.D. in Math from MIT and will be joining the faculty at Harvard this Fall as a Benjamin Pierce Instructor. I have also heard that he just proved a 75 year old conjecture, but don't quote me on that!"
Allison Brody writes "Bentley Boyd and I are coming up on our 5th anniversary and our son Samuel Brody Boyd will be 3 September 1st. Bentley has just made the transition from reporter/cartoonist to cartoonist/at-home-dad! I am now the executive director of The Cooking Together Foundation, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to teaching children cooking and baking skills. Born to Mary Ellen Ronayne-Marino a daughter Mary Katherine Gabrielle, on December 22, 1994. "Mary Kate joins her brother James and her sister Eileen. We are delighted with all three."
Helen Chen recently moved to San Francisco and is working at Genentech (a biotechnology company) as a sales analyst and is living in North Beach. She writes, "Slowly but surely I am getting my life back in order. Mark my words, this will be my last move for years. Born to Laura and Hugh O'Flynn, a second child, Brigid Theresa on May 19, 1995. Brigid's big sister, Hannah, is 2. Hugh is a resident in orthopedic surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC. Hugh writes, "Brigid is the third child of our roomning group this year. Heather and Dave Lang had Jeffrey, and Kelly and Martin Skelly had Angela."
