Carrington Balderson (1990, COL)
Carrington Balderson (1990, COL) writes, "I've been working at Harvard pretty much since the day after Commencement. I did an Ed.M. here during the first bit of time in Counseling (and did a little of that) but otherwise have made a career working with sponsored research and gift administration. However, I'm planning on moving to Salt Lake City, UT in the near future and looking for a job. Anyone have any leads? Anyone living in that area now?"

Lois Leveen (1990, COL)
Lois Leveen (1990, COL) writes, "My novel, *The Secrets of Mary Bowser* comes out May 2012 from William Morrow/HarperCollins. It's based on the true story of a former slave who became a spy for the Union during the Civil War, by posing as a slave in the Confederate White House. I hope the immense research I did on this project makes up for the deplorably poor answers I gave to all the Civil War questions I was asked in my Hist and Lit orals."

I don't think I have posted for the last 20 years so here's a brief update: I have recently moved from beautiful, quiet Salt Lake City to bustling, steamy Guangzhou to help ensure that Chinese kids get the highest quality baby formula too. My wife Julie Lim (Stanford '94) and 3 kids (ages 1 to 6) are with me for the ride and are adjusting just fine so far (after all, we can still find McDonald's and Disney Channel...) Anybody visiting the neighborhood (meaning China, Hong Kong, anywhere in southeast Asia?) please get in touch. Really!"

Melissa Feliciano (1990, COL)
Melissa Feliciano (1990, COL) writes, "I've been enjoying my work as a juvenile defender in the Maryland Public Defender's Office for the last 5 years. In between visits to detention facilities and playing lacrosse or music with my 10 year-old daughter, Nina, I sing with a neighborhood a cappella group (with none other than our classmate, Chris Reed!) and play contrabassoon in the Hopkins Symphony Orchestra. Our singing group just had a great workshop with Laurel Masse, a founding member of the Manhattan Transfer. Fortunately and unfortunately, my husband, Ilya, has been traveling quite often for his interpreting gigs, leaving me to be the Russian tutor for Ninochka. My mother-in-law, who lives near us in Baltimore, is determined to keep Russian alive in the family. We're hoping to visit Moscow and St. Petersburg next year to see friends and relatives. "

Says Scott: "Everyone is doing well, enjoying our new life together. Keshi and Kai had a great summer. Having said that, the first few weeks home caught us off guard. We knew how challenging the adoption "recipe" could be from our first experience, but apparently forgot just how difficult those first few weeks home are. . . mix in the exponential increase in work that a second child brings. . . lightly flavor with a dose of "instant toddler". . . and . . . "Voila!"

Ana Kreyszig (1990, COL)
Ana (Miranda) Kreyszig (1990, COL) writes, "It has been an eventful (and sometimes sad) few months. In happy news, we went to the baby naming of classmate Ana Cruz's daughter (Judith) in September. Perhaps not surprisingly, given how beautiful Ana C. is, Judith is a gorgeous child. And I am one proud aunt!
I am sorry to report that Herb's father, Professor Erwin Kreyszig (Emeritus of Carleton University, Ottawa), passed away unexpectedly at the end of 2008. It was thus a quiet holiday season for us, as we adjusted to the changed circumstances.
The ensuing months have seen us traveling back and forth to Canada on an almost mothly basis. I can report that Ottawa in January is definitely colder than Cambridge was.
Slowly, things are getting back to "normal," with Herb picking up his consulting work. As for me, I spend my days working, and my evenings volunteering.
We managed ot take a quick weekend trip to New Orleans, to get away from it all, enjoy the warmer weather, and eat much more than we should have.
I still find it hard to believe that our twentieth reunion is only about a year away! Has it really been that long? "

Ana Kreyszig (1990, COL)
Ana Miranda Kreyszig (1990, COL) writes, "Herb and I moved back to the West Side a few months ago, and have been busily unpacking and trying our hand at decorating. Slowly, our cozy "new" apartment is looking more and more like home.
The spring saw us spending a week in beautiful New Orleans, where we took in the marvelous sights, smells, sounds, and, of course, flavors, of that unique city. Oh, what joy! I must have gained ten pounds, and it was totally worth it. The French Quarter was glorious, the Aquarium of the Americas is coming back nicely, the zoo is still a wonderful place, we took a swamp tour so Herb could get an up close and personal look at snakes (and I did not die on the spot!), and we chartered a plane to see the delta from above. All in all, an incredible journey.
In July, we celebrated Herb's birthday with a trip to the Trapp Lodge in Vermont, where Herb indulged in traditional Austrian food, and I finally got to see eidelweiss, up close and personal. The Lodge is a truly charming spot.
I continue to be busy at work, and to enjoy my volunteer activities with the New York Junior League, where I serve as a member of the Governance Committee, as well as co-chair of the Foundling Friends Committee.
If you plan to be in New York, or just want to catch up, please email or call. I would love to hear from old friends. "
